Blake Baggett wins Glendale Supercross with Galfer USA brakes

The 2019 Monster Energy Supercross circuit rolled into Glendale, AZ for the second round of the series.

After a wild weekend at A1, riders were looking for redemption in more stable conditions.

Baggett, like most other riders, was looking to bounce back after a less than perfect performance in the pouring rain in Anaheim.

Baggett came into the evening as a darkhorse, finishing outside the top ten in qualifying, and a comendable fourth in the second heat.

When the gate dropped for the main event, Baggett loomed in the top ten, making a few moves in the first half of the race. A downed rider made cause for a medical flag and red flag staggered restart. Baggett restarted the race in the top 5.

While Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson battled just ahead of him, Baggett slashed his lap times in leaps and bounds.

Defending champion and Galfer USA rider Jason Anderson led the race for nine laps before Baggett passed him in a gutsy straight line drag race.

Baggett made it clear that he is no underdog in the 2019 Supercross championship race — his explosive comeback in Glendale is a clear indicator of more to come for the KTM rider.
