Bagger racing has taken the motorcycling world by storm in recent years, with the Bagger Racing League put on by Drag Specialties leading the charge. Many people don’t immediately think about the word “performance” when they think about a Harley-Davidson or Indian motorcycle, but the advent of these race series coincides with the greater “performance bagger” trend that has picked up speed in the last decade. Builders and casual riders alike have found that they can dramatically improve the performance and handling of their machines with the help of some aftermarket upgrades from companies like Galfer USA and GBrakes.com.
We were fortunate to be able to attend the 2023 Bagger Racing League season finale at Willow Springs Raceway this year, and caught up with GBrakes.com sponsored racer Sam Doucet-Hebert of Original Garage Moto to find out what kind of preparation goes into bagger racing. Sam ended up finishing 2nd in the Metzeler Pro Stock Bagger class, good enough to wrap up the season in 3rd place in the class standings.
