Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC -KTM-WPS traveled to the mile high city as round 15 of the 2019 AMA Supercross season made a return after 23 years to Denver, CO and Broncos Stadium at Mile High this past Saturday night. It would be another top ten night for the team, as Justin Bogle rode to a rocksolid fourth place, and Blake Baggett carved through the field to sixth place.
Blake Baggett launched out of the gate in his heat and rounded the first turn just behind his teammate. He kept pace with the leader until a slight bobble on the last lap slid him back one spot, crossing the finish line in 3rd place. Blake started the main event with his work cut out for him as he rounded the first turn at the tail-end of the top ten. He charged forward, and made his way to just outside the top five by mid-race. Blake put on a late race charge only to run out of time, taking the checkered flag in 6th place.
“It was a tough one tonight” said Baggett. “I felt good out there, just didn’t get the start I needed and the track was very tough to pass on.. We leave here healthy and we’ll take the break to prepare for New Jersey and Las Vegas.”
Justin Bogle‘s night started out leading the field into Turn One, nailing the holeshot in his heat race. He quickly opened up a lead as he found the fast lines around the slick track. Justin rode a superb race and took his first heat race win of the season. Another strong start in the main event allowed Justin to round the first turn inside the top five. He soon found himself in a back and forth battle with Joey Savatgy that lasted for a couple of laps, with Justin moving solidly to 4th place. He then opened up a gap by the end of the race and caught up to the tail-end of the top three, earning a well-deserved 4th place at the checkered flag.
“Tonight was a great night,” said Bogle. “The track was my style and it was fun out there tonight. I grabbed my first heat win of the year and rode strong in the main event for a solid 4th. I have been putting in the work and it is starting to show. We’ll take the week off and then be ready to fight for a podium in New Jersey.”
Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – KTM – WPS will take a week off before traveling to Metlife stadium in E. Rutherford, NJ for the second to last round of the 2019 AMA Supercross Series.
